Weekend Results

Friday July 13 Winchester Speedway......... Terrible track conditions caused Cruz Pedregon to end the night early in the Loco-Motives 17 and I Qualified 8th (I think) ran 3rd in heat and broke in the feature do to the harsh conditions

Saturday July 14 Hagerstown Speedway.......... Had extremely fast track all night and smooth, Cruz was unable to Qualify , it took me all night to finally realize how he needed the car set up to be free enough for his comfort so we learned a lot and will be better prepaired for his driving style next time!! I won my heat race and finished 5th in Feature

WOO Late Models June 16 Hagerstown Speedway

After qualifying 9th over all and earning a 3rd starting spot in the heat mechanical failure ended our night at the drop of the green flag in heat #1

June 6th 2012 –

NHRA Funny Car Champ, Cruz Pedregon proved that he is more than just a straight-line ace, as he quickly adjusts to the Loco-Motives Racing #17 super dirt late model for a very impressive showing at this years Prelude to the Dream at Eldora Speedway. The black #17 Loco-Motives Racing Mastersbuilt was transformed into a NHRA funny car look-alike that resembled Cruz’s familiar red & black Snap-on Tools car theme that sported the #75. Cruz elected to run the low grove for the feature event and it was really paying off, as he charged from his 18th starting position all the way to 2nd by lap 25. A mid-race caution slowed his progress as he was forced to restart in the outside groove, giving up a few spots to the cars restarting on the inside lane. Looking like a top five finish was in store, Cruz fell victim to a “slide job” gone wrong by a fellow competitor, ultimately finding him finishing in the 7th position, with damage to the LF of the car.

It was a true team effort by everyone involved. Loco-Motives Racing and DeHaven’s Racing were very proud to be part of such a worth while event and couldn’t be more pleased with Cruz’s performance.

Plans are in the works to have Cruz campaign the Loco-motives Racing #17 as much as possible in this 2012 season. Tentative dates for his participation include July 13th and 14th at the Hagerstown and Winchester Speedway(s).

“We are VERY EXCITED to have Cruz participate in some local events and hope that fans will come support him, as he competes against some of the best talent in our region. He is such a class act and so personable. You cannot help become a fan...”
- Loco-Motives Racing owner, James Stasiowski

2012 The Dream June 8-9
Qualifying was not so good , we did not post quick enough time to be in the top 60 for Saturday heats . We had to race our way in through Friday night qualifying races, where we rolled out on the grid starting 8th but was moved up to 6th before the start. When the checkered flag fell at lap 20 we had started to get some momentum going as we finished 3rd to secure a spot in Saturday's events. We lined up in the first heat in 12th spot and rallied up to 7th missing the B-main by 1 spot but was getting some much needed seat time to get more comfortable, this place is an animal to adapt too !!! Our efforts in the C-main was not enough as we settled for a 4th place finish in the C-main

Leaving for Eldora Tuesday night . Cruz Pedragon will be competing for our team in the Prelude to the Dream for Feed the Children charity, thanks to Tony Stewart for his awesome contributions for charities! I will take a back seat in Wednesday nights events as I will be Cruzer's Head Mechanic . I will be back behind the wheel of the Loco-Motives / DeHavens RY powered MBH to compete in the Dream on the 8th and 9th! I won the non qualifier feature in 2006 at the Dream and competed in the World 100 the same year but have not been back since. I would like to thank Cruz Pedragon along with Snap on tools, Loco-Motives, DeHaven's Trailer Sales, 37 MMG, and Zirkle Bro's Letterworx for making another trip to Eldora possible for me!! Also give a shout out to: Keyser Mfg, Quarter Master. Integra shocks and springs, Mastersbilt by Huey (and Billy), Base Fuels, Cizmar rivets, Wrisco, Sweet Mfg, Scheaffer Oil, FK Rod Ends. Peterson Fluid System, RY Engines, Port City Racing, Simpson, BBR, AutoMeter, AJ Triplett Ent, Ernie D's, and HTMA Hoosier Tires.......... Sincerely Thanks !! Ronnie DeHaven Jr

Hagerstown June 2nd , qualified 2nd in group , started 3rd in heat finished 4th , started 10 in feature and ran in to keith jackson in first corner by accident and got hung on him and had severe rf damage and had to call it a night , sorry for the Bland / Jackson team who suffered falling way back from contact

Friday May 25th - Hagerstown Speedway problem plagued night! More fuel pressure problems caused us to miss hot laps and only run a lap in the heat. We were able to fix the problem finally, but were unable to come back to qualify.

Sat May 26 Winchester Speedway qualified 7th started third in heat and finished 2nd. Started fourth in feature and fell back at start and was able to get back to 4th at the checkered flag.

5-19-12 Winchester Speedway $ 3,000.00 to win

Loco-Motive owned DeHaven Race team Qualified 14th quick as we found more bugs to work out with the new car, but from there forward we manage to dig out of a hole and strive forward. Finished 3rd in our heat from the 5th starting position and started 8th in the feature event. We marched our way through the field to finish a very strong 2nd to Kieth Jackson. We are very close to finding the magic with this new car, we was able to master qualifying the first week and seemed to find a few things tonight to steer clear of early in the night but found it made for a steller machine later in the feature. Congrats to Keith Jackson

The first night out in the new Loco Motives owned Ford Roush Yates powered Mastersbilt turned out to be a great shake down for never being out of the shop. We were able to set fast time with an extremely strong field of cars! went on to win the first heat race and bring home a second place finish despite fighting a miss and a fuel pressure problem all night long. The R Y engine guys were very helpful and will be sending up the parts we need to fix the problem. We are looking forward to winning once we get the bugs out!! Congrats to Jamie Lathroum on a great clean race and his win, good to see him back on track

Trip to VMS friday didnt turn out so good after a terrible pill draw and a decent time trail and we started 5th in our heat. They took 4 and we did not make it in and noticed that there wasnt a whole lot of passing in friday's event and with the amount of competition and the history of this event (tires, tires, and more tires) we decided to head back to familiar grounds where Winchester Speedway would host the Lee Stultz memorial paying 5 grand. Despite yet another bad pill draw we were able to turn in a 6th quick lap over all. We ran third in our heat and charged from 9th to 4th in the non stop feature. No cautions and the amount of lapped traffic made it hard to make up ground but the ry powered mbh performed great in the feature event.

Ronnie and the Loco-motive / DeHaven racing #17 team were not going to settle for 2nd place this week.  Ronnie unloaded fast, and swept the evening at Winchester by leading flag to flag in both the heat and feature event.  The first win netted the team $2,000.  Rounding out the top 5 were Jeremy Miller, Trever Feather, Dj Myers, and Bo Feathers.

April 2, 2012

First race out for Loco-motive / DeHaven racing turned out ok. Started 4th in 1st heat and won that, then drew 6 for feature and kept digging to make another groove and chase down pole sitter Jason Covert. At the checkered flag we had to settle for second by less then 1/2 car.
